Republicans like Boobies and Bondage!

At least we know that not all of them are old enough to have lost all interest in simulating reproduction.

The Republican National Committee recently fired an employee for running up a $1,946 at Los Angeles night club, Voyeur. The naked ladies shaking their titties in a bondage-themed strip club was apparently the appropriate location for a young Republicans fundraiser. Well, after it became public that Republicans are totally ok with using donor funds to support the women of the night, they fired a female staffer.

Who wasn't the person that picked up the nearly $2000 tab (that was GOP donor Erik Brown), nor was it the committee's chief of staff (Ken McKay). Nope, they just pointed a finger at a random staffer and pulled the trigger.

Funny enough, this is just the most headline-grabbing misappropriation of donor funds. There's also a $200 charge at a liquor store. But that's not the most fun!

A recent Federal Election Commission report details not just the ridiculous sex club expenditure but loads of lavish spending on the part of Steele and others at the RNC, including $17,000 for private planes in February alone, nearly $13,000 for car services, and more than $18,000 to redecorate Steele's office. Steele, a former Maryland lieutenant governor, also reportedly has received substantial fees for making speeches, even though the RNC pays him a full-time salary.

I'm sorry... Isn't the Republican party supposedly the faction that champions less spending? How do they reconcile this with their donors? If I had donated money to a political committee that purports to stand for 'family values,' supports grass-root movements, and that I thought would limit government spending...and they turned around and spent tens of thousands of dollars on frivolous bullshit. Well, not only would I ask for a refund, but I am pretty friggin sure that I'd be jumping parties.

Besides, Michael Steele doesn't even want that office that got that $18,000 makeover!

What do you think about the RNC's spending? Would you mind if your political party spent thousands of dollars on a bondage strip club? Email your thoughts to IncitingARiotPodcast@gmail.com or tweet me @IncitingARiot

In a bit of personal news: I've just been named Chicago's Pagan Activism Examiner for Examiner.com! Hopefully, I'll have my page up and running shortly. Thank you all for your continued support and readership in this new venture. Also, thank you for your support during this interim period of employment. I am quite optimistic about my future, and am eagerly anticipating re-entering the world of the gainfully employed within the week!
