Mexico likes what's going on in Arizona & Lesbians Can't Get Dick

This case just isn't going to end anytime soon.

A U.S. judge temporarily blocked the most controversial parts of the law from going into effect. The sections put on hold would allow police to investigate "the immigration status of a person stopped, detained or arrested" and to arrest anyone they think might be subject to deportation, and would make it a crime "for an unauthorized alien to solicit, apply for, or perform work."

Apparently, Mexico is taking the initiative to 'ensure that the rights of Mexican nationals are not violated.' I'm sure all you lovely Rioters have several thoughts about this not-surprising development. Comment, Tweet, or email IncitingARiotPodcast@gmail.com.

In stupid daytime TV cohost news: Elisabeth Hasselbeck - that font of conservative eloquence - alluded on Tuesday's episode of the View that lesbians that come out later in life do so because, as she says, "All the older men are going for younger women, leaving the women with no one." Because, you know, if you can't get dick, you're forced to enjoy the vadge. Yes, it's crude, but come on... She actually said lesbians are lesbian because they can't get a man!

Her entire uneducated rant is caught in video form, which you may view below.

Speaking of the View, President Obama taped his appearance on the well-watched show today, making him the first sitting president to appear on a daytime talk show. The episode will air tomorrow (Thursday), and I'm eagerly anticipating what will be/was said. I'm sure Mrs. Hasselbeck will put on a good show of pretending to be polite. It will be interesting to hear if he comments on the Shirley Sherrod debacle.

Thought I was going to gloss over that story, Rioters? Never fear. Check out the latest episode of Inciting A Riot: the Podcast for my take on the Sherrod case. Oh wait. I need to finish recording that show.

One last thing: I JUST FINISHED the Kelley Armstrong book Waking the Witch. My full review will be out soon! All I can say is that I hope you've entered the swag draw for this month, because this is a book you'll want to win!

Love and Lyte,

  1. “House Bill 2013” and “SB1070”

    0 = Arizona
    2 = USA/ Our Constitution/ We the People of the United States

    This month of July 2010, our U.S. Federal courts have found the so called State of Arizona hate filled legislation namely “House Bill 2013” and “SB1070” Un-constitution (So much for the intellect of Jan Brewer, “Did you read the bills you signed?”). But we all know that they will go crying to the Supreme Court of the United States, please, please, please go. We will fight you in Arizona, any other state, and yes in Washington DC. We will not tire, we will not be silent and we will persevere, I promise you.

    In my opinion the Republican Party has been taken over the most extreme of clans; the Baggers, Birthers and Blowhards (people who love to push their beliefs and hate on others while trying to take away the rights of those they just hate) and that’s who they need to extract from their party if they real want to win in November. Good Luck, because as they said in WACO, “We Ain’t Coming Out”.

    It’s all about politics: Jan Brewer you were never elected to be Governor, but you have no problem trying to get elected on the back of undocumented workers, you loser (sure you may win but the long-term effects to your so called State is just beginning). Here is a partial list of your hate filled legislation;

    1. S.B. 1070,
    2. House Bill 2013
    3. No permit conceal weapons law,
    4. The famous Birthers law,
    5. Banning Ethnic studies law,
    6. Banning human-animal hybrid (aren’t most GOPers crossed with the Reptilian race?)
    or are they just giving Laurence Gonzales, some great promotion material for his new book “Lucy”.

    7. Could she be behind the Mural in Prescott, Arizona, ordered to be whiten,
    8. On deck to pass, no citizenship to babies born to undocumented workers,

    9. If she can read she should look up Arizona’s House Bill 2779 from two years ago (which was un-constitution and failed when legally challenged),
    10. The boycotted Martin Luther King Day, what idiots don’t want another holiday? Yes, you guessed it Arizona.

    Well Arizona, you can keep boycotting new holidays, passing hate filled legislation and the rest of our country will continue to challenge you in court of law and Boycott your so-called state.

    Lets face it, no one can real believe anything that comes out of Brewer’s mouth, in an interview, this year, in an attempt to gain sympathy, she first said her father had died in Germany fighting the Nazi in World War II (which ended 1945) but of course we find out the truth that father was never in Germany and died in California in 1955. But we are suppose to believe everything else she says, right!

    As they say in the World Cup: Gooooooooal!

  2. I'm curious about this lesbian thing. Apparently, I should not be attracted to women at all, since I'm happily engaged to a man. Yet I am most definitely bisexual. Do bisexuals count? Do they even exist in Hasselback's world? What about all of the young lesbians out there?

  3. ugh I am so tired of hearing about this law... I keep hearing about it on the evening news. I live right where it is all going down. I am just so tired of it!!!! I live in Tucson...just I oppose this law so much you have no idea and I am somewhat for it. I am glad I am moving to Flagstaff where I wont have to hear about this every single night!!!
    Jan Brewer is trying to do this all for attention and she is seriously getting it...

  4. Hasselback needs to zip her mouth shut before she digs a hole for herself. It is quite ridiculous to just assume that just by skimming through a few pages of "statistics." Emotions aren't meant to be studied under a microscope and she isn't even a professional psychologist to even say "oh this is the real reason why women are lesbian or turn lesbian." I don't know why people need to put on a label on people's personal lives. It's not like lesbians are marrying the whole world and it's the end of it. Such an exaggeration, I really wanted to call at the very moment the show just to really ask her, "Are you a closeted lesbian that you're making this up?" And for the latest stupidity of politics, I think America is starting to be a less enticing place to live in.
