Rooted (new-to-you poem)

I'd completely forgotten about this poem until I found it a few weeks ago.

Written in 2010.

Love and Lyte,

Fire Lyte

Rooted

Today I surrendered to a war
that was not fought on land but in me
to stand as one and alone as trees
to be seen as tall and secondary
recognizing the connected roots underneath
that are in the dirt, that touch and wrap
in the dirt.

Today I bow, surrendering to a oneness
that I am the microbes and the star fire

rooted to the cosmos in the rough.
